Smile follows Jules the summer after a traumatic first year of university. Clouded by denial about her suicide attempt, she must navigate her relationships with her family, her friends, and her future and decide if she is going to take the steps she needs to save herself, or fall back into a pattern of avoidance and lies. Smile explores trauma, family, and mental health in the Black community.
